What You’ll Learn:

The Cockpit Drill (DSSSM)

Before driving, you must set up your car correctly:

  • Doors - are they closed securely?
  • Seat - can you comfortably reach the pedals?
  • Steering - is your grip relaxed at the 9 and 3 o'clock position?
  • Seatbelt - clicked in and untwisted?
  • Mirrors - adjust your rear-view and side mirrors for full visibility.

Clutch Control and Moving Off Safely

  • How to find the biting point without stalling
  • Usinghandbrake and gear changesproperly
  • Checking mirrors and blind spots before pulling away
  • Following the MSM routine: Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre
